Feasibility study for value addition in the fruit and vegetable sector

This PPG envisage improving fruits and vegetables value chains in Sri Lanka, by minimising and addressing SPS and post-harvest issues along those value chains and thereby contributing to the promotion of fruits and vegetables exports.

The purpose of this PPG is twofold:

  • To conduct a feasibility study to evaluate the economic, technical and operational feasibility of value addition of five export fruits (pineapple, papaya, banana, mango and passionfruit) and;
  • To develop a five year strategic and a short term operations plan for LFVPPEA
