Building phytosanitary capacity to facilitate trade
In Guinea, weaknesses in phytosanitary controls, limited national regulations, and the presence of pests pose barriers to agricultural production and trade. In 2017, the country applied the IPPC Phytosanitary Capacity Evaluation (PCE) tool to identify capacity gaps and prioritize necessary interventions. The purpose of this PPG is to elaborate a project proposal based on the results of the PCE in order to improve the safety and quality of Guinean agricultural products, strengthen consumer health protection, and facilitate safe trade.
