Stella Oraka

Stella Oraka is an assistant director Bsc Phytopathology, Msc Biotechnology/Mycology and a plant pathologist with 29 years' experience in plant health inspection, certification and administration in Nigeria. She was a forestry officer before joining the Nigeria Agricultural Quarantine Service in 1985 and subsequently deployed to head Sapele seaport as plant quarantine coordinator. Since 2001, she became regional quarantine officer of the south east zone of Nigeria. She has participated in several national and international workshops and meetings and a number of on-the-job trainings on ISPMs, plant quarantine systems analysis, modern biotechnology and biosafety. She is presently a member of the working committee for the implementation of the Customs-led single window port clearance in Nigeria.
