Dr. Davinio P. Catbagan is currently the Philippines’ Department of Agriculture (DA) Assistant Secretary for Livestock. Under his watch and supervision are the 5 Livestock Bureaus and attached Agencies of the Department. He is currently in-charge of the country’s Animal Health Program and activities. He is a Veterinarian and a graduate of Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degree from the University of the Philippines (UP) after taking up courses in Agriculture. He was the Chief of the International Airports and Seaports Veterinary Quarantine Services for 17 years and was the Director of the Bureau of Animal Industry (BAI) for 5 years prior to his current position. He is also the Philippines’ Delegate to the OIE and the country’s Chief Veterinary Officer.
