Lissette Gómez

Nimia Lissette Gómez holds a degree in Veterinary Medicine from the Eugenio María de Hostos University, in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic. She has been working at the Quarantine and Risk Analysis Department at the Veterinary Service for nineteen years as a technician and department supervisor, contributing to develop importation requirements for live animals and products of animal origin. She is currently the Chief Veterinary Officer (CVO) in the Ministry of Agriculture in Dominican Republic and president of the National Committee of Sanitary and Phytosanitary Measures. She has participated in international meetings and forums as CVO and OIE (World Organisation for Animal Health) country delegate.
