Talei Fidow-Moors

Talei Fidow-Moors is a plant biosecurity officer by training. She holds a Postgraduate Diploma in Agriculture and a Bachelor of Agriculture degree from the University of the South Pacific, Samoa. She has been working in the area of plant biosecurity within the Samoa Quarantine Services since 2005. The primary objective of her job is to ensure quarantine security, quality assurance and inspection services to protect Samoa from the introduction of exotic pests, diseases and weeds, as well as to certify export commodities as pest free. Additionally, her duties include the setting of standards for Samoa’s biosecurity at the border, developing SPS measures in relation to import and export standards for animals and plants etc.,  and ensuring export certification conformity with export standards.
