Accelerating eCERT Adoption
14 September @12.30-13.30 (CET)
Meeting type: in-person
Where: WTO Library
Background
Trade is a document intensive process requiring the submission of various licences, permits and certificates. While such documentation is needed to ensure that traders comply with regulations, the absence of automated systems increase trade costs and has detrimental impact on the environment. Using ePhyto as a case study, this session will explore concrete ways in which we can digitalize the process of acquiring key trade documents for the benefit of the planet. It will bring together experts from both public and private sectors to discuss the economic and societal values derived from the use of eCertification. This is an interactive session which will allow speakers and participants to engage in an open and dynamic discussion.
This event is taking place in the framework of the WTO Public Forum 2023.
